If you are considering receiving Invisalign® clear aligners to improve your smile but are unsure how to keep them in good shape, we are happy to provide you with the information you need! Maintaining proper dental hygiene while wearing orthodontic aligners can help you keep dental problems at bay so that your smile progress remains on track. We offer tips on caring for both aligners and your smile while undergoing orthodontic treatment at our office.

Remember to remove your clear aligners as mealtimes and to brush and floss your teeth. Take these moments as an opportunity to rinse away any plaque and bacteria with water to keep the material free of stains and prevent the dangers of bacteria growth on your orthodontic appliances. You should also deep clean the aligners every day with a soaking solution comprised of Invisalign cleaning crystals or denture solution mixed with water.

Don’t place your aligners back in your mouth until you have brushed and flossed your teeth to remove lingering plaque that would otherwise remain stuck between the appliance and your tooth enamel. Use a fluoride toothpaste and soft-bristled toothbrush and a floss that feels comfortable.

Our orthodontist, Dr. Robert Montoya, and team would be happy to provide further information about clear aligners in Keller, Texas, for your information needs. Please feel free to give Montoya Orthodontics a call at 817-427-2237 today.
